Whether you’ve been shooting for 20 years or 2 years, I can never image knowing everything there is to know about photography, and the different approaches and methods to compose and capture an amazing photograph. There is nothing more inspiring than being surrounded by a group of amazing photographers who love what they do. And together, we all strive to work together and become the best we can be; bettering ourselves and bettering the community we are a part of! Raising the bar and building community….Love it! And talk about the perfect place to do it!

After making an extra effort to build up some brownie points with Erin, she was amazing and let me spend half the week in Miami, FL for the Portfolio Plus Workshop taught by my good friends Kenny Kim and Ray Santana. These two are not only amazing at what they do, but they are givers to their industry! Combined, these qualities have risen them to the top and it was incredible to spend a few days learning and being challenged by two men who I respect and admire greatly!

Also joining us were Jim Garner and Dave Cross. Dave Cross brought his guru photoshop skills and Jim shared with us a style of photography that is single-handedly changing the way we view weddings here in our studio! Voted one of the top 10 photographers in the world, it was such a pleasure soaking in as much as I possibly could!

After a jam-packed afternoon of learning from these guys, we took our new inspiration and had an amazing shoot at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Huge thanks to Ines Di Santo for loaning three divine wedding gowns for us to photograph!

Here are a few images from the day! Huge shout out to all my new photog friends! It was so great meeting you all…can’t wait to see you soon!

One of the conditions for Erin letting me go hang with the guys was that I come back with a image we could put in our studio! The above image of Lucy is now hung as a gorgeous 40×30″ canvas wrap. Huge thanks to Pixel2Canvas here in Orange County for an amazing piece of art!

Laguna Beach Wedding Photography: Jola and Joe Got the Heat!

It’s no hidden secret that Erin and I love our couples. And on the wedding day there is nothing we look forward to more than the one-on-one time we have to be them and get some amazingly fun portraits! This shoot was exactly that!

Well last week we got an email from Jola, a friend of ours who had her 5 year anniversary coming up and she wanted to hop back in her dress and take some photos with her hubby. Having gotten married in Vegas, they wanted something completely different for their photos this time around…the Anti-Vegas if you will.

The long and short of it…they wanted The Montage in Laguna Beach…and they wanted it bad! Who could blame them? It’s such a gorgeous location with an endless supply of possibilities!

Even with the fact that the recent storms virtually erased the shoreline here in Orange County, these two were pure gold when they were together.

Taking her husband Joe aside to get some GQ photos for his bride, I noticed that Jola was following me. And her reason why just melted our hearts, “He smiles better when I’m near him!” she said. And sure enough, Joe’s face lights up whenever she’s around his bride!

After five years of marriage, and seeing one another day in and day out, it just amazes me the love they have! It’s how it’s supposed to be with the love of your life!

One look at these two and you’ll agree….absolutely golden.
