Rancho Palos Verdes, Terranea Resort: Marsha and Lamont

So earlier this evening I was trolling the internet, looking for inspiration to begin this blog post. I was at a loss as to how to begin to introduce you to Marsha and Lamont. In a nut-shell, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to say about them: they are amazing, their story is amazing, and their love so evident both in word and deed. But I can’t just write that and call it a night, that’s a blogging “no no” and let’s be honest, it wouldn’t win any Pulitzer’s!

Going back to me giving Google a run for it’s money…after a while I came across the above quotation and realized this anonymous philosopher hit the nail right on the head! So many times I think we define love by as “she loves him because of …insert quirky/weird character trait here”…you get the idea. What I mean is that the imperfections in the individual allow us to easily interpret how one is meant for the other. Isn’t that the case sometimes?

After reading this quote it finally dawned on me (not literally, although it was getting late), Marsha and Lamont truly have something amazing! This spark, this connection that runs so deep it’s like an extension of who they are as an individual. Even though they live on completely opposite coasts, leading busy corporate jobs that have them jet-setting from state to state, they still aren’t truly complete without the other next to them. It’s the silent connection more often than not that’s impossible to hide; a look, a glance, an extra tight squeeze when they hold one another…this is Marsha and Lamont to the T :)

Having been together for over 7 years, I can only aspire to hold Erin as Lamont holds Marsha when they are together! There’s nothing hidden or quirky, it’s just them together…and they’re stronger for it.

Marsha is a planner, and undoubtedly just like Lamont we love her for that! She set everything up for our Engagement Session at the utterly breath-taking Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. We had so much fun walking, talking, and capturing that unescapable spark between these two. Erin and I cannot wait for their wedding in May and to meet their wonderful children and families. If these two are any indication, it’s going to be a day to remember!!

Erin and I went back and forth as to which images were given the coveted “blog stamp” so without further adieu, here are two of our favorite people :)

Miami Wedding Photography: Jose and Olga & 1500 Guests!

I had the distinct privilege and honor to be able to shoot Jose and Olga’s wedding Miami a few weeks ago with Ray Santana, Oz Wroe, Jonathan Chan, and Lara Rios. Yes, that’s right, there were over 5 amazing photographers covering this wedding!

Why would one ever want/need so many talented photographers you might ask? Well the guest list to this incredible wedding was larger than high school! With over 1500 in attendance combined with the amazing details and decadence that met you at every turn, this wedding had all of us shooting nonstop. The ceremony alone left the towering Epiphany Catholic Church filled to standing room only, followed by over 20 buses waiting to transport the guests to the cocktail hour and reception.

Gorgeous in her gown by Oscar de la Renta and her shoes by Cristian Louboutin, Olga was glowing from morning until night as she anxiously awaited seeing Jose on her long walk down the aisle! All evening, you would have guessed they were the only two people in the room by the way they looked at one another and exchanged smirks and flirtatious winks! So in love, so happy to be spending forever together! Despite the amazing celebration in their honor, the guest list needed only two names on it for them to be happy. They needed only each other, the rest were just details.

Thank you Ray for allowing me to capture such a day and such a romance!

I Married A Bit Out of My League: Love You Erin!

Hello!

Erin and I are SO excited, SO tired, and SO thankful for having just spent 5 days in Las Vegas at WPPI 2010! We made so many new friends, strengthened and grew closer to so many of our old friends, and really just got recharged and ready to rock this years wedding season! There is some good change coming to Gavin Wade Photographers, but more on that later!

So as the writer of our blog, I’m able to take a few creative liberties, write my thoughts, and in this case share a few photos of my beautiful bride! She gave me the “OK” to post a few of the photos I took as we were getting ready for our photo shoot with the ever-fabulous Scarlett Lillian while we were in Las Vegas this past week. I think this is the 3rd or 4th time she’s been in her wedding dress! haha. We had such a great time and while I didn’t take my camera, I snapped a few of these in our room as she was getting her makeup and hair all done up…I definitely married up!! :)

Can’t wait to share more of what’s to come and all that we took away from WPPI!

Here are a few shots of my hottie!
