Where do we even begin with a couple as wonderful as Brett and Adriana? Well first, there was the proposal. There was the ocean, there was a song by Dave Matthews, there was a videographer in the bushes, and there were musicians surrounding and serenading them as Brett got down on his knee asking Adriana to be his wife; asking that the music they were hearing would be “their song” all the days of their lives. And so as “Crush” was being played all around them, she said ‘yes’ and their new chapter in life began.

Being both a videographer and photographer himself, Brett is a guy that took me all of 2 seconds to like, we’re cut from the same cloth in many ways (camera nerds). And Adriana? She didn’t even need to speak a word, one smile from her and Erin and I knew we just lucked out big time with having a couple like them trust us with their wedding day. We’ve been looking forward to their engagement session for so long and with the weather alllmost thwarting our plans, the skies parted and we had such an amazing time with them this past week. We can’t wait for their stylish and chic wedding at the Turnip Rose last this year!

Hopefully we’ll think of a few more excuses to see these two again before the wedding day, but in the meantime we are on the edge of our seats as we can’t wait to share the wonderful afternoon we had documenting the love these two have for one another. We hope you enjoy!

There is no bigger compliment to us than when a fellow photographer entrusts us with the joy and honor of photographing them and their fiancé/significant other. It’s so much fun! Las week Erin and I were out in Las Vegas for the WPPI Convention and on one of our last days there we had the chance to spend some time with Kristen Joy Cooper and meet her fiancé Zach. Kristen is a talented local Las Vegas photographer (check out her website) and since she attended our desert shoot and knew that we were going to be in town. She asked if we would do their engagement session before their wedding in May. You bet we will!

Since we were out-of-towners, Kristen took the liberty of choosing the Springs Preserve as our location for the afternoon; a favorite place of hers to shoot. We can definitely see why! Erin and I had the best time walking, talking, and laughing with Kristen and Zach. What an incredible story and love they share with one another! It was such a blessing to get to know them better and for once let Kristen relax and have fun on the other side of the camera.

It has been a whirlwind of a month here in the studio. All the while, we have been anxiously anticipating the arrival of WPPI and the photo shoot we’ve been organizing out in the desert! We were blown away by the response and had over 30 photographers come out and participate in the fashion shoot out on a dry lake bed just outside of Las Vegas.

Hands down it is one of our favorite places to shoot. With miles of desert in each direction and nothing but amazing mountains in the background, our models just popped and they really brought the heat! Brittanie and Tomas were our bride and groom (remember their wedding at the Chart House in Dana Point?) and our new friend Kate was our high fashion model. Despite the bitter cold and gusty wind, they all did so amazing and definitely made it a time to remember. Thank you all so much!

This entire shoot was a first for Erin and I. It was definitely a learning experience and we’ve taken away so much! We can’t wait for the next time we can bring a group of amazing photographers together and have fun together doing what we love!
