It was one of those days. It was gloomy out (no rain thankfully), we were a little sleepy (I blame the weather), and we had been in one of those “lay on the couch with a blanket” type of moods all afternoon. That is, until we showed up for our engagement session with Christina and Kameron. Kam was in the same boat as us, having been up since 4am for work. He quickly downed a 5 hour energy, we grabbed our jackets and gear, and set off into Irvine Regional Park.

I think we were in there a whole 5 minutes and to our amazement, the skies parted and the sun came streaking through. It invigorated us all and we just had the best time with these two love birds. Even with the gloomy weather Christina was an absolute ray of sunshine the entire time; loving on Kameron and making sure he held her close and kept her warm.

We went exploring around the area and were so fortunate to have the sun follow us; it couldn’t have gone any better! Having seen our session with Kate and Sean, they loved the idea of popping a bottle of champagne and having a romantic toast amongst the trees.

Erin and I are so excited for them as they plan out their big day coming up next year. With the joy and love these two have for one another we know their wedding day will be nothing short of amazing!

What an incredible wedding day it was with Donna and Jonathan at the Sherwood Country Club. Donna and Jonathan are two people you just want to be around because they are so fun and relaxed. They love to laugh, they love to celebrate, and they love their family and friends. Normally, I always make it a point to check on our bride and groom a few moments before the ceremony, just to see how they’re doing and if I can get them anything. When went to both Donna and Jonathan they were so amazingly calm and happy. They were ready. Their joy could be seen on both of their faces. They’d been ready for a long time now, and it was such an honor to witness the joining of two wonderful people. I found myself smiling and cheering for them behind my camera as I saw the tears and laughter they shared together during their ceremony.

Thanks to Lisa with Stephanie Grace Designs, the entire day was so perfect. The timing couldn’t have been better as we hijacked a golf cart and went cruising around the grounds at Sherwood; the weather held off just enough and we had the best time capturing these two. A huge thanks to our friend Kate Noelle who shot this wedding with me.

Donna and Jonathan, no doubt you are still reeling from you adventures in Costa Rica, but we can’t wait to share with you some of our favorite moments from a day filled with such love and happiness. Thank you for not only being YOU, but for letting us in and trusting us to capture a love that you just don’t see everyday. We hope you enjoy!

I’d have to say this engagement session with Kate and Sean in Irvine ranks up there with the most relaxed and fun shoots we’ve done in a long while. We always get questions about where engagement sessions should be, which locations are best, what people should wear, etc. And not only are they great questions, but they are the right questions to ask if you are really wanting your photos to be a little less traditional and a bit more modern and unique (aka our awesome brides).

For Kate and Sean, this was the easiest conversation ever. They knew that they were the most comfortable in and around their home and their style was definitely more laid back and stylish. Done deal! And when Erin and I showed up to The Park community in Irvine, we quickly saw why they never would want to leave. Styled after the parks and housing in New York, around every corner you came face to face with beautiful architecture, fun light streaking through, and a wonderful place for Kate and Sean to be themselves. Little Roxy also joined us at the beginning for a little walk and enjoyed her glamour shots before heading back to her couch watching March Madness.

We had the best time with these two and you can just see how incredible happy they are when they’re together. We can’t wait for their wedding later this year at the Ponte Winery out in Temecula! Thanks Sara and Ryan for getting married so we could meet these two!
